Elisabetta De Nardo, a veteran of Silversea Cruises and Costa Crociere, is signing on with MSC Cruises as VP port development.

She reports to Gianluca Suprani, SVP global port development and shoreside activities. Based from MSC Cruises’ global headquarters in Geneva, De Nardo will support the establishment and development of strategic partnerships with cruise ports around the world.

Suprani welcomed De Nardo to his growing team.

Expanding operations

'With already 15 cruise ships in our fleet and another 10 due to join in the next eight years, we are increasingly expanding our operations around the world, covering more regions, ports and destinations. I am confident that Elisabetta will help us establish new strategic partnerships with international ports and manage existing ones,' Suprani said.

Most recently De Nardo has worked for Silversea, joining the line in 2014 as director of port operations and moving up to VP port & destination operations. Earlier, she was with Costa for nearly seven years, ultimately as port operations & development director.

Before that, De Nardo worked in cargo shipping.

Speaker at Seatrade Cruise Med

She is scheduled to speak at Seatrade Cruise Med in Lisbon this month on the panel 'Making Cruising Welcome: How to Find the Balance between the Economic Impact from Cruise Tourism and Sustainability in Port-Cities and Destinations.'
