Martinique's Fort-de-France will host 20 maiden calls, including Anthem of the Seas, during a season when port calls are up 49% and passenger numbers are 73% higher.

This 2015/16 season has 221 calls that will carry an estimated 380,000 passengers. This continues Martinique's sustained growth, making for a huge 800% increase in cruise passenger arrivals since the 2010/11 season.

'With these latest projections it’s safe to say that cruising in Martinique is not only on the rise, but in fact the sector is blossoming beautifully like the fragrant exotic flowers emblematic of our island,' said the poetic Muriel Wiltord, director-Americas, The Martinique Promotion Bureau.

While Martinique is proud to be among the world's fastest growing cruise destinations, there is room to improve services and products to continue the growth, Wiltord added.

'We are 100% committed in this regard,' she said.
