Mario Aguirre
The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association appointed Mario Aguirre, a veteran of the Honduras Tourism Board, as director of membership events & programs.

Aguirre will interact with Platinum Members, cruise executives and industry partners for the logistics of events like the FCCA Trade Show and the Platinum Associate Member Advisory Council Conference. He'll also develop promotional opportunities that improve business for members and develop new features that add value to the Platinum Membership program.

Aguirre brings 17 years of travel industry experience, last overseeing promotional efforts for the Honduras Tourism Board as its North American representative. In that job he spearheaded strategic planning related to the cruise industry and led other efforts concerning airlift, trade events, advertising and public relations.

Having attended FCCA events since 2004 and forged relationships with other Platinum Members and cruise executives, Aguirre will already be known to many involved with the association. Since his participation with the FCCA, Carnival Corp. & plc built the Mahogany Bay destination near Roatán, and the cruise passenger count in Honduras ballooned from 300,000 in 2003 to more than 1m FCCA member line arrivals last year.
