The first steel was cut Wednesday for Holland America Line's third Pinnacle-class ship at Fincantieri's Marghera yard.

Sister of Nieuw Statendam

Due for delivery in May 2021, this will be the 17th ship constructed for Holland America by Fincantieri, which most recently delivered Nieuw Statendam.

The vessel has 2,662 lower berths and Pinnacle-class features like Rudi’s Sel de Mer; the World Stage, with two-story, 270-degree wraparound LED screens for immersive main stage performances; and Music Walk with Lincoln Center Sage, BB King’s Blues Club, Billboard Onboard and the new Rolling Stone Rock Room.

'Resounding success' for Pinnacle class

'The Pinnacle class has been a resounding success, and we look forward to welcoming the third in the series,' Holland America president Orlando Ashford said.

As with sisters Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam, the new ship will feature public spaces by hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany and architect Bjørn Storbraaten.
