Cuban-born cruise executive Frank Del Rio, who always dreamed of sailing one of his ships to the island, realized that dream today when Oceania Cruises' Marina docked at Havana.

Del Rio, co-founder of Oceania Cruises and president and ceo of its parent company, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, was on the bridge as Marina approached the island and docked at Sierra Maestra Cruise Terminal. He was accompanied on the bridge by Oceania co-founder and ceo Bob Binder.

Once the ship was alongside, Del Rio addressed international media about the inaugural voyage.

Marina is carrying 1,250 passengers. The 14-day cruise departed from Miami March 7 and will continue on to Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and the Cayman Islands.

Oceania Cruises has two more sailings to Cuba scheduled this month and six in the autumn.
