Harbormaster Brett Milutin moved up to director of port operations at the Port of Galveston, reporting directly to Rodger Rees, CEO/port director.

'Can do' attitude

'Having been employed with the port for over 17 years, Brett not only possesses knowledge of past port operations, he also brings a "can do" attitude that we are instilling at the port,' Rees said. 'I am excited about Brett’s fresh new ideas and his loyalty to this port. I am confident Brett will continue to improve our operation and help take the Port of Galveston to the next level.'

Responsible for terminal operations

Milutin will be responsible for overseeing terminal operations including organizing and directing the berthing and regulation of vessels, overseeing construction projects and liaising with current and potential new customers.

Milutin has served as harbormaster since June 2017. Earlier roles were related to maritime security and waterside operations including facilities security officer and assistant harbormaster. He began his career as a police officer with Port of Galveston Police Department in September 2001.
