Harmony of the Seas - setting for part of Cruise Planners' November convention
The theme for this year's Cruise Planners convention is 'I Am CP,' emphasizing the home-based franchise network's positioning of its agents as innovative, connected, inspired, change-makers and 'full of Cruisitude.'

'This confident theme is Cruise Planners’ commitment to our entire network of travel professionals,' said Michelle Fee, ceo and co-founder of Cruise Planners, an American Express Travel Representative.

'The goal for 2016’s convention is for Cruise Planners agents to hone their skills and help define and focus what their specialties are using “I Am CP” for inspiration,' Fee continued. She added that suppliers and industry partners are a critical component of agents’ success and will provide direction and support for agents looking to develop their niche.

More than 600 Cruise Planners travel advisers are expected at the sold-out event, which will offer multiple ways for agents to connect on a large scale and an individual basis with travel suppliers.

The Nov. 3-8 convention begins at Miami's InterContinental Hotel, then hundreds of agents will sail aboard Royal Caribbean International's Harmony of the Seas during its Nov. 8 North American debut from Port Everglades.

The program features motivational sales and marketing workshops, preferred travel and destination partner forums and presentations by cruise line, destination, land and tour company executives. A trade show gives further opportunity for agents to network and strengthen supplier relationships.

Among the new training elements is CP Genius Lab, an in-house help desk to answer questions about technology and agency management. Topics can range from mobile technology assistance and setting up emails to search engine optimization and accounting and QuickBooks.

An interactive geography game will help familiarize agents with top cruise ports, how to book land and destination weddings, and more.

Sessions on niche marketing will focus on specializations such as special needs travel, small ship cruising and theme parks and attraction vacations.

As always, Cruise Planners will incorporate charitable giving into its convention. This year attendees will participate in 'Light the Night,' a low-impact walk around Bayfront Park in Miami to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
