Genting Dream will present 'China's Got Talent' show

Genting Dream will present 'China's Got Talent' show
Dream Cruises' first ship will feature a theatrical version of the television show 'China's Got Talent.' Under construction at Meyer Werft, Genting Dream is scheduled to debut at its homeport of Guangzhou (Nansha) in November.

Dream Cruises president Thatcher Brown announced the show during a trade event with Vivian Yin, ceo of FremantleMedia China, and Michael McKay, president of activeTV. FremantleMedia with British entertainment company SYCO own the 'Got Talent' rights around the world, while activeTV will produce the show with the entertainment team at Dream Cruises.

Aboard Genting Dream 'China's Got Talent' will be a 45-minute theatrical show in the 999-seat Zodiac Theatre. It will open with an energetic, booming montage, with the same lighting, set design and theme music as the television show. Casting for the performers will shortly take place throughout China, tapping into Genting Hong Kong’s experience booking hundreds of acts for its cruise ships and entertainment venues around the world.

'I know the stage will be full of searing performances, tears and drama, and guests will be part of the action by voting for their favourite performer,' Brown said.

Other entertainment planned for Genting Dream includes the legendary Singaporean nightspot Zouk, renowned for its edgy parties. Passengers will be able to dance to world-class DJs day and night, and Zouk will feature a fireworks display.
