The Tunisian State and Al Karama Holding are to sell 99.98% of the capital in Goulette Shipping Cruise(GSC), responsible for the management and development of La Goulette's cruise terminal as well as the associated tourist Harbor Village.

MedCruise associate member, GSC, built the cruise terminal at La Goulette as well as the Harbor Village and has exclusively managed cruise activity of the port of La Goulette since 2007 under a BOT contract with the Tunisian port authorities for a period of 30 years extendable for another 20 years.

GSC offers entertainment and duty free shopping in a moorish setting inside the terminal including local handicrafts, services for passengers and crew and entertainment.

The company’s share capital amounts to 10m Tunisian Dinar(US$3.8m), divided into 100,000 shares with a face value of 100 TND($38) each.

Capital African Partners Bank is the exclusive advisor to Al Karama Holding for the transaction.

Over 400 ships annually visited in early 2010's

In 2010, the La Goulette cruise terminal welcomed nearly 900,000 passengers on 406 calls.

Tourism in Tunisia fell sharply following two separate fatal terrorist attacks in the first six months of 2015, but the port returned to the Med cruise map in October 2016 with a call by Hapag Lloyd's Europa and subsequently Viking Cruises made four calls in La Goulette in early 2017 and also returned in 2018.
