A futuristic, energy-efficient 166,500-square-foot facility
Miami-Dade County commissioners unanimously approved the plans for Norwegian Cruise Line's new Terminal B at PortMiami.

The county will invest up to $100m to build the facility, augmented by funds coming from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. Commissioners also agreed to advance project costs not to exceed an additional $65m.

NCLH will reimburse the county for all costs exceeding $100m

Completion is planned by Nov. 8, 2019, in time for Norwegian Encore's Miami debut.

An 'iconic' terminal

NCLH president and CEO Frank Del Rio has promised an 'iconic terminal that will contribute to Miami's world-famous skyline and strengthen its position as the Cruise Capital of the World.'

Blueprints for the futuristic, energy-efficient 166,500-square-foot facility were revealed at Seatrade Cruise Global in March. Lead designer is Bermello Ajamil & Partners.

The terminal will be built to the east of existing Terminals B and C, and to the west of Terminal A, under construction by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
