Neptun's Matthias Lutter will join A-ROSA in 2019
Matthias Lutter, currently with Neptun Werft, will be joining A-ROSA Flussschiff in the newly created role of head of newbuildings. Lutter, head of construction at Neptun Werft, will join A-ROSA in Rostock on Jan. 1.

Jörg Eichler, shareholding MD of A-Rosa Flussschiff, said the company needs new ships to continue its growth strategy in the prosperous river cruise market. Lutter is the right expert for this challenge, he added, and someone who could also advance A-ROSA in terms of sustainability.

Lutter joined Neptun Werft in 2012 and was promoted to his current role two years later. He has been involved with the A-Rosa Silva and A-Rosa Flora newbuildings, and contributed to the 'RiverCall' project that aims to construct a fuel-cell-powered river vessel. One of Lutter's recent projects was the construction of an LNG-powered gas tanker.

An engineer, he started his career at the Kiebitzberg shipyard in Havelberg.

A-Rosa Alva is coming for the Douro

A-ROSA is getting a new river vessel in May that's tailored for the Douro River. A-Rosa Alva ('alva' means dawn in Portuguese) is being built at Portugal's WestSea Viana by Douro Azul, which will charter the vessel to the German river line 2019.
