South Florida teacher Brittany Affolter, chosen as godmother of the world's largest cruise ship for her work inspiring youth, officially named Harmony of the Seas Thursday evening.

The Port Everglades festivities featured singer-songwriter and Miami native Jon Secada performing some of his greatest hits.

Affolter, from Teach For America Miami-Dade, was selected in a public vote from among a large field of nominees, narrowed to three finalists.

Harmony of the Seas joins sister ship Allure of the Seas at Port Everglades and will offer seven-night eastern and western Caribbean cruises.
