Half of Harmony's sports inventory laid out on Brighton beach
Harmony of the Seas, arriving in the UK in May 2016 post delivery for a couple of cruises before positioning to summer home base of Barcelona will offer the widest range of sports and games activities ever found aboard a Royal Caribbean vessel.

To demonstrate the scale of the activities to the public, the cruise line laid out half of its 3,415 pieces of sports inventory onto a beach in Brighton on the UK's south coast. In addition, a live infographic was created on a Dorset beach to show the breadth of sports to be found on Harmony of the Seas.

A team of 20 people spent seven hours laying out over 1,700 items of kit across 85mtr of sandy beach; half the 3,415 pieces of sports equipment to be found onboard the new ship. A team from Royal Caribbean undertook the meticulous task of counting 900 ball pit balls, 192 golf balls, 144 badminton shuttlecocks, 80 ping pong balls, 31 surf boards, 30 basketballs, 16 ice hockey sticks, 16 pool cues, 144 pool balls and 8 table tennis tables.

This ship includes Ultimate Abyss, a10-story slide, as well as the exhilarating multi-level Perfect Storm water slides.

Stuart Leven, managing director UK and Ireland said, 'There aren’t many holidays where families can visit multiple destinations, try their hand at ice skating, body boarding, a zip wire and learn how to Blongoball all in one trip!'

Harmony of the Seas launches in May with two short sailings, a three and four day cruise will sail roundtrip from Southampton and incorporate a visit to Cherbourg in France and Rotterdam in the Netherlands respectively.  The vessel then sails to Barcelona for seasonal West Med cruising before moving to the Caribbean.
