The National Hurricane Center in Miami forecasts Nicole to pass near Bermuda Thursday
Scheduled cruise calls were earlier rerouted as Nicole, a dangerous Category 3 hurricane, is 'closing in on Bermuda' Thursday morning, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

'Bermuda's infrastructure is very prepared for weather events of this kind as a result of strict building codes and a well-equipped recovery plan that is already on standby for activation,' the Bermuda Tourism Authority said in a statement, adding that 'Hotels will continue to host guests during the storm.'

The Tourism Authority added that 'Bermuda is already planning for a speedy recovery from Hurricane Nicole as it has done time and again when faced with severe tropical weather.

'The island bounces back quickly from storms; hospitality is in our blood,' the statement continued. 'We take pride in caring for visitors currently on-island and will be ready to welcome new ones by the end of the week.'
