The Spanish airline will link Madrid and Barcelona airports with Pullmantur's European turnaround port of Athens, Helsinki, Rostock, Trieste and Trondheim.
Around one third of Spaniards who opted for a cruise holiday in 2017 chose Pullmantur Cruceros. New in 2018, is the launch of Pullmantur Cruises Exclusive Destinations programme providing full immersion through excursions, on board activities and culinary offering based on the itinerary and including the Arctic Circle, corners of the Med, and Legends of Arabia, out of Dubai.
Richard J. Vogel, president and ceo of the cruise line highlights several reasons for the choice of Iberia as a strategic partner: ‘We have taken into account their flexibility when it comes to responding to the needs that we propose and not forgetting that it is one of the most prestigious and punctual airlines in the world.’
Vogel points out: ‘one of our priorities is to guarantee our guests a wonderful experience; and this is not only limited to the time they spend on board, it starts much earlier, when the ship has not yet sailed.
‘Having such well-known allies as Iberia helps us achieve our goal,’ adds Vogel.
Víctor Moneo, sales director of Iberia in Spain, points out that ‘every time we collaborate with Pullmantur Cruceros it’s to more destinations and this summer we will exceed 90,000 seats on flights throughout Europe to serve fly-cruise passengers, a segment of travel that, year after year, is booming in our country.’
Most of Pullmantur’s fly-cruise itineraries include air and also a free airport-to-cabin luggage check-in service from Madrid and Barcelona hubs.
The Mediterranean inbound and outbound fly-cruise market will come under the spotlight at the Meeting Future Demand in the Med and its Adjoining Seas session taking place during Seatrade Cruise Med conference taking place in Lisbon, September 19-20, 2018.
