Holiday Planet has traded successfully in Australia for almost 17 years offering a wide range of holidays through Holiday Planet, Cruise Planet, Flight Planet and Seniors Planet. It is based in Perth led by founder and md Alan Dodson and fellow operations director Michael Croy.

Dodson will be staying with the business following the acquisition, whilst Croy will be retiring.

Launched by founder and ceo Robin Deller in 2011, Imagine Cruising has its head office in the UK with international offices in Cape Town, Dubai and Brisbane.

Imagine Cruising is 51% owned by dnata, a division of the Emirates Group.

Deller said, ‘We have seen considerable success since launching Imagine Cruising in the booming Australian cruise market in 2016. Holiday Planet is an excellent fit to Imagine Cruising as we look to grow further in Australia.’

Dodson commented, ‘It is terrific to have the backing and investment of Imagine Cruising as well as the backing of dnata and the Emirates Group. We look forward to offering our loyal customers an increased range of innovative holidays in the future.’

In Australia Imagine Cruising has replicated its cruise and stay holidays combining cruises with hotels, tours and iconic events for Australians with popular destinations including Asia, UK, Mediterranean, Northern Europe, noted Peter Shanks, development director.

‘With growing international reach – Imagine Cruising now offers our customers a compelling cruise and stay proposition to destinations across the world and represents an excellent distribution opportunity for our partner cruise lines,’ Shanks added.
