John Chernesky - proud of Princess Academy's recognition as best training program by Travel Weekly, Recommend and TravelAge West
In the decade since introducing travel agent training via the Princess Academy, Princess Cruises has enrolled more than 90,000 consultants, more than 1.9m courses have been completed, and 9,700 graduation cruises have been redeemed.

Princess is now offering two contests with prize opportunities and program enhancements based on input from travel partners.

The Commodore Booking Contest gives active Commodores a chance at one of 10 prizes, including a Mediterranean cruise on the new Majestic Princess and a Panama Canal cruise aboard Caribbean Princess, just for making a booking using POLAR Online. Consultants who make a booking for a balcony stateroom or above receive two entries. The contest runs to Nov. 1. Bookings from June 1 not made via POLAR Online are still eligible for entry. The Princess Academy Dashboard lists contest rules.

Plus, Princess Academy participants who complete the EZair course are automatically entered for the chance to win two round-trip tickets on Delta Air Lines in the EZair Course Contest.

The enhancements based on agent feedback include a new dashboard for easier access to courses, personal status information and news; course improvements including interactivity, voiceover on various courses and new design with enhanced graphics; and improved depth of information so consultants can select exactly what they want to view.

Princess Academy provides more than 40 courses on product and sales training, from destinations to using EZair to book flights. Agents move up through four ranks, gaining 'stripes' as they successfully complete the course work. Those who complete the program at Commodore level are rewarded with a free cruise that includes the same benefits received by elite members of the line’s Captain’s Circle loyalty program.

'I’m proud to say that over the last 10 years, Princess Academy has been recognized as the best training program for travel consultants by Travel Weekly, Recommend and TravelAge West magazines,' said John Chernesky, vp North America sales, Princess Cruises.

Princess Academy is approved by Cruise Lines International Association and awards five credits toward Accredited Cruise Counselor, Master Cruise Counselor and Elite Cruise Counselor certifications. The Travel Institute provides eight Continuing Education Units to Certified Travel Industry Executives, Certified Travel Counselors and Certified Travel Associates who complete the program.

For Canadian agents, the program has been approved by the Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors for 15 credits that may be applied toward the requirements for the Certified Travel Counsellor designation.
