Ponant launched a partnership with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) to support African women. The goal is improving the health of communities through medical aid, which includes pediatric and obstetric care.

The partnership was announced on International Women's Day Wednesday by Ponant president and co-founder Jean Emmanuel Sauvée.

For a number of years, as part of its corporate social responsibility policy, Ponant has been working to promote women’s rights with its Femmes à la barre (Women at the helm) program, which seeks to encourage a gender balance among its crew.

The line also works with the French shipowners association, Armateurs de France, and the National Maritime Academy to honor female officers.
