SafeAshore is a mobile and web application, designed to further enhance the safety of shore excursion guests and guides
Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services announced that SafeAshore - its in-house shore excursion safety system – is now live and in use across 10 ports worldwide.

Developed in Barcelona and launched in Marseille in 2017, SafeAshore is a mobile and web application, designed to further enhance the safety of shore excursion guests and guides.

Already live and operational in Marseille, Le Havre, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Penang, the system is now in place and ready for use in Southampton (London), Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga and Palma de Mallorca, and currently in development for Dubrovnik, Civitavecchia (Rome) and Livorno, in preparation for the year ahead.

SafeAshore enables Intercruises and cruise line teams to track tour group locations at any time, while also providing a single and secure communication channel for instant messaging between guides and the Intercruises team.

The system is pre-loaded with information to aid incident response, including local emergency phone numbers and a map highlighting nearby ‘safe places’, such as police stations or hospitals.

‘It has been an exciting project to roll out SafeAshore in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Penang during the current season in Asia. To be able to know where our shorex groups are at all times, especially during those long two-hour drives from Port Klang to Kuala Lumpur, is an extremely useful asset during our operations,' said Julieanne Yee, manager operations Asia, Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services.

Intercruises has confirmed that it will continue to develop and deploy the system across multiple regions as part of a two-year expansion strategy and expects to be operating in over 80 worldwide ports by 2020.

'SafeAshore is a hugely advantageous tool for our worldwide shorex teams, who have always, and continue to, prioritize the safety of guests. We’re very proud of its success so far and very excited to witness its growth this year,’ Olga Piqueras, managing director, Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services, told Seatrade Cruise News during the company’s hugely popular party at Seatrade Cruise Global held this evening at Vibe Bar, in Fort Lauderdale’s trendy Las Olas.
