Jeju prepares for third annual cruise event
Into its third year, Jeju’s  annual Asia Cruise Forum which is to be held August 26-28 2015,  promises the widest range of topics it has ever had.  Representatives from the cruise industry, government, industry bodies and related academia are expected to attend and discuss the implications of what being at the center of the 'new wave of Asia cruise tourism and the fastest growing market in the world' entails. 

On the first day, the forum will provide a platform for industry bodies to meet.  These include the Asia Cruise Leaders Network (ACLN ) which comprises some 50 members from Asia and will be holding its annual meeting,  a coalition if Korean academia which is organizing the International Marine Tourism Seminar  and a meeting for the Asia Cruise Terminals Association (ACTA).

The forum’s keynote address will be delivered by Alan Buckelew, chairman of Carnival Asia and Group coo of Carnival Corporation & plc. Industry leaders are expected to provide practical advice on how to promote cooperation and prosperity for Asian industry players. The theme of the Forum is  - 'Asia Cruise Tourism and Common Prosperity'.

The forum will also explore how the cruise industry can contribute to local communities and what kind of economic impact can be expected. Other cruise forum staple issues such as supporting policies, ports-of-call issues and tour programs, should also come up for discussion. The forum hopes to 'iimprove the tourist satisfaction levels in ports-of-call, encourage repeat visits, raise the involvement of the local community and increase the awareness of how the cruise industry can contribute to the community and its economy.'

To be held in Jeju, South Korea’s Special Self-Governing Province, the forum is  organized by the  Jeju Tourism Organization and Jeju Cruise Industry Association, and hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. On the last day of the forum, delegates will go on excursions around JeJu to sample the varied shorex offerings.
