Ladurée macarons are now aboard Ponant ships

Ladurée macarons are now aboard Ponant ships
Closely following its new partnership with Veuve Clicquot champagne, the Marseille-based Ponant continues as an ambassador for the French art de vivre by teaming with the famous Parisian patisserie Ladurée.

Ladurée macarons will be served aboard the Ponant fleet, which now numbers five ships with the addition of Le Lyrial in May.

These small round cakes, crisp on the outside, smooth and soft in the middle, were created at the beginning of the 20th century when a second cousin of Louis Ernest Ladurée, who had opened a baker’s shop in the Rue Royale in 1862, joined two macaron shells with ganache filling.

Since then, the recipe has never changed, with a range of 12 regular flavours and other seasonal ones.

At Ponant, Ladurée’s most famous creation will be served once a cruise during a Ladurée teatime. In their cabin, passengers will also receive a box with five flavours—chocolate, fleur de sel caramel, pistachio, Earl Grey and vanilla.
