Le Havre celebrates 500th anniversary with a Cunard transatlantic crossing in 2017

Le Havre celebrates 500th anniversary with a Cunard transatlantic crossing in 2017
Part of the upcoming celebrations of Le Havre’s half millennium (the city and the port were created by King François 1er in 1517) the Tourism Board, in association with Compagnie Internationale de Croisières, the French representative of Cunard, have scheduled a direct transatlantic to New York, which will leave Le Havre on September, 15th 2017.

Passengers embarking at Le Havre will be mostly French. A special program will be dedicated to the French guests on board. International passengers will embark in Southampton prior to the call at Le Havre.

To promote the 2017 transatlantic crossing, Jean-Baptiste Gastinne, vice-chairman of the Normandy Region and of the Le Havre Conurbation, also Président of Le Havre Cruise Club, launched the slogan '500 passengers for 500 years', on board Queen Mary 2.

In 2016, Queen Mary 2 will call at Le Havre on November 2.
