Lindblad appoints US Navy veteran to lead marine operations
Former A.T. Kearney consultant Tyler Skarda, a US Navy veteran, will join Lindblad Expeditions Holdings as svp marine operations.

Skarda brings more than two decades of maritime industry experience, focused on strategy, capital equipment procurement cost reduction and shipbuilding/ship operations process improvement for global maritime companies and their suppliers. He consulted for A.T. Kearney the past seven years.

Skarda began his career in the US Navy and later worked in the Office of the Secretary of Defense as a senior maritime industry analyst prior to leaving the service.

'Lindblad Expeditions is in a significant growth phase, and Tyler's expertise and deep experience will be invaluable for both our newbuild fleet expansion as well as the shepherding of our existing fleet,' president and ceo Sven-Olof Lindblad said.

Skarda starts Jan. 4 and will be based in Lindblad's Seattle office.

His anual base salary is $250,000, and he'll receive a one-time signing bonus of $140,000, primarily for relocation expenses, according to a filing. He's also entitled to an annual bonus opportunity targeted at 50% of base salary and a guaranteed minimum bonus of $62,500 for calendar year 2016, plus stock options to purchase 20,000 shares that vest over a three-year period.
