Lloyd Werft begins building Crystal's four river yachts

Production began for Crystal River Cruises' four yachts with the push of a button by president and ceo Edie Rodriguez to start the steel-cutting at Lloyd Werft.

Crystal Debussy, Crystal Ravel, Crystal Mahler and Crystal Bach are scheduled to embark on Europe's rivers in summer 2017.

Rodriguez initiated the steel-cutting In the presence of Genting Hong Kong chairman and ceo Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, Lloyd Werft managing director Rüdiger Palletin and representatives from local German chambers.

'This seemingly simple act was an absolute thrill, as it represents a very important milestone in the growth of the Crystal brand,' Rodriguez said. 'It was my honor to stand with the leaders of our wonderful parent company and the acclaimed Lloyd Werft, and to enjoy the support of the local community leaders, as we continue the process of ushering in the new era of Crystal with Crystal River Cruises.'

The all-suite luxury river yachts will offer 250-square-foot suites with walk-in wardrobes, American king size beds and bathrooms with double vanities. The pair of Penthouse Suites will stretch 500 square feet with added comforts and conveniences.

Spacious public areas will include Palm Court with a dance floor and glass-domed roof, and a well-appointed fitness center and spa.
