La Mer – A French Bistro by Emmanuel Renaut will feature authentic French cuisine with the chef's modern twists
Princess Cruises' new ship for the Chinese market will offer a Parisian-style bistro by the three-star Michelin chef Emmanuel Renaut. Majestic Princess debuts in April with La Mer – A French Bistro by Emmanuel Renaut.

The venue joins another by a Michelin-star chef, Richard Chen, who's designing classic Cantonese dishes for a restaurant called Harmony.

This makes Majestic Princess the only cruise ship in China to feature two specialty dinner menus by Michelin-star chefs.

Renaut is the executive chef of Flocons de Sel in the French Alps village of Megève. Flocons de Sel was awarded its third Michelin star in 2012, having earned the first in 2004 and a second in 2006. Before establishing the restaurant in 1998, Renaut cooked in some of the finest kitchens in Paris and London, including Hotel de Crillon, Claridge’s and three-star Michelin restauraunt Auberge de l’Eridan as sous chef to Marc Veyrat.

For La Mer, Renaut is crafting a fine dining dinner menu featuring authentic French cuisine made with his modern twists, including favorites from his Flocons Bistrot menu and new concepts. This specialty dinner experience will be available for a cover charge, to be determined. In addition, La Mer will offer complimentary lunch and breakfast options created by the Princess culinary teams.

Located in the Majestic Princess atrium, La Mer is designed by Jeffrey Beers International. The space combines French style and authentic Parisian details with sea views through floor to ceiling windows, and provides a prime vantage point to view the activity and entertainment in the atrium Piazza below.

The 143,000gt Majestic Princess is scheduled to sail its inaugural voyage April 4, a five-day Adriatic cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome). After a series of Europe sailings and a repositioning cruise to China via Dubai and Singapore, Majestic Princess will begin operating from homeport Shanghai on July 11.
