MedCruise participates at China outbound travel event
MedCruise participated at COTTM2016, the China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market event in Beijing on April 12-14 2016 as part of a strategy targetting Asia as a key passenger source market for cruises in the Med.

The MedCruise delegation joined the discussions of the first day of the conference presenting the various features and unique characteristics of cruising in the Mediterranean and its adjoining seas.

The Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports also exhibited on the trade show floor meeting with local agents and other stakeholders, presenting the MedCruise destinations and promoting the region for cruising.

'Our message to the Chinese was clear,' said Thanos Pallis, secretary general, 'there is nowhere else on earth where one can cruise to so many different countries within such a short period of time and sample as many flavours, cultures and retrace the footsteps of history as one can in the Mediterranean and its adjoining seas.'

In an attempt to find out more about Chinese travellers, MedCruise circulated a specially designed survey, making the most out of its presence in Beijing.

This is not the first time that MedCruise has promoted the appeal and attractions of its members at Asia cruise and travel trade events. A day ahead of COTTM2016, MedCruise met with more than 80 travel agents from 40 Chinese agencies in Beijing and next month it is sponsoring the travel agent training programme at Seatrade Cruise Asia in Busan, Korea.
