Mein Schiff 6 will sport an entirely new look Neuer Wall shopping zone
TUI Cruises unveiled further details of its newbuild, Mein Schiff 6, including a new shopping area and the ship's godmother.

The ship will be named June 1 alongside Hamburg's new Elbphilharmonie concert hall by titular organist Iveta Apkalna. While further details of the ceremony will be announced later, TUI Cruises confirmed music will play a central role, befitting the christening venue.

A sister of Mein Schiff 5, the newest addition to the fleet will also have 12 restaurants and bars. There are, however, a number of innovations and modifications with Schau Bar on Deck 5 being restyled as a Jazz Club, and Abtanz Bar will convert to an Escape Room zone during daytime.

The area on Deck 14 will be fitted with shaded sails to make it more flexible for use as an open-air cinema and sports area, whatever the weather. A new lounge area is located on Deck 15.

Innovative is the shopping concept provided by concessionaire Gebr. Heinemann, providing a new look for the 'Neuer Wall' duty-free shopping area including more places for eating and relaxing including beach chairs set up in the Außenalster Bar & Grill, Überschau Bar and Champagner Treff.
