Queen Victoria will operate a winter escape to South America
Cunard's 'Oceans of Discovery' program from November 2019 through April 2020 includes Queen Mary 2's world cruise, a series of grand voyages and 10 maiden calls in Japan, Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Plus, overnight stays feature two full days in cities such as Cape Town, Auckland and Buenos Aires.

Queen Mary 2 will operate Cunard’s sole world voyage in 2020, a classic east-west route to Australia and Asia, including the Mediterranean, Arabian Gulf, Indian Ocean and southern Africa. The cruise can be taken as a round-trip from New York (113 nights) or Southampton (99 nights). Shorter voyage options range from one to three weeks and can be combined in many ways.

The beginning of the voyage is routed via the Mediterranean and Suez Canal to the Arabian Gulf and across the Indian Ocean, entering Asia via the Malacca Straits. From there Queen Mary 2 will head north via Vietnam to Hong Kong before steaming south to Australia. The final leg of the voyage is the return to Southampon from Australia, routed via South Africa. The voyage includes more overnight stays than in any of the ocean liner’s world voyages in the past 10 years.

Other Queen Mary 2 deployment in 2020 features grand voyages and regions of the world, 35 voyage combinations ranging from seven to 113 nights and overnight stays at Haifa, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, and a double overnight at Cape Town.

In December 2019 and the first half of 2020, Queen Elizabeth will offer a series of round-trips from international ports with richer, more regionally-focused itineraries. In between these deployments will be grand voyages.

Queen Elizabeth will operate six round-trips from Melbourne and two from Sydney covering South Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand as well as a new itinerary that features Papua New Guinea with maiden calls at Conflict Island and Kiriwina. The ship will offer multiple sailings in Japan, making five maiden calls to ports there in 2020.

Queen Elizabeth will stay overnight at Cape Town, Auckland, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai, and provide scenic cruising in Fiordland National Park, New Zealand, as well as Alaska's Hubbard Glacier and the Inside Passage.

Queen Victoria, meanwhile, will operate a series of European departures in November and December 2019, followed by a winter escape round-trip experience to South America. The ship will stay longer in ports such as Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, and overnight at Manaus, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Callao. Scenic cruising will include the Amazon River, the Strait of Magellan, Cape Horn, the Chilean Fjords and the Panama Canal.

Those booking Queen Mary 2's world voyage from New York or Southampton (departing Jan. 3 and Jan. 10 respectively) or Queen Victoria's South America Voyage from Hamburg, Southampton or Fort Lauderdale (departing Jan 2, 10 and 21 respectively) will receive benefits including the services of a world voyage concierge and use of a private lounge, a commemorative gift, cocktail parties, shoreside gala dinner/cocktail party and daily gratuities.

Full world-cruise bookings made by Nov. 30, 2018, will be entitled to a reduced deposit, on-board credit of up to $3,000 per stateroom, captain’s wine reception (in ocean-view, balcony and Grill suites), an alternative dining credit (in ocean-view, balcony and Grill suites), ground transfers (in ocean-view and balcony) and upgraded private transfers (in Grill suites) plus laundry service (in ocean-view, balcony and Grill suites).
