Ken Muskat will work closely with CLIA on travel agent issues
Ken Muskat, evp sales, public relations and guest services for MSC Cruises USA, has been named chairman of Cruise Lines International Association's Trade Relations Committee.

He will lead a committee of his peers and work with CLIA's Charles Sylvia, vp membership, to provide counsel on travel agency and agent relations, training, professional development programs, partnerships, research and membership initiatives.

Muskat assumes the role from Brian O'Connor, vp public relations for Princess Cruises, who left the committee when he changed jobs. Previously O'Connor was vp North American sales for Princess.

Calling travel agents 'vital to the success of the cruise industry,' Muskat said he looks forward to working with the CLIA team and fellow member cruise lines to find 'new and innovative ways to keep travel agencies and agents as the main distribution channel for cruises and profitable for years to come.'

During his chairmanship, O’Connor led the committee to help CLIA launch the new Individual agent membership level, and was a strong advocate for cruise line benefits for agents.
