Multilingual welcome for passengers visiting Le Havre

Multilingual welcome for passengers visiting Le Havre
With seven calls during the last week of April and more to come in May, growing numbers of passengers are expected in Le Havre this year from a wide variety of ships carrying multilingual visitors.

In order to make everyone feel welcome, the Cruise Terminal has adapted its organization accordingly with the staff selected on their foreign lanaguage skills and tourist brochures are also displayed in appropriate languages.

The entire staff must speak English and practice basic Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese and German, as Germany has become the top source market for cruise visitors in Le Havre.

AIDA Cruises' AIDAmar has been calling every Tuesday this month, and will be succeeded by AIDAprima from May 3. TUI Cruises will visit eight times with Mein Schiff 1, 3 and 4 all calling this year.

In addition, 40 shop retailers have been trained on hospitality in foreign languages, by the Chamber of Commerce as part of the Cruise Club program.
