Musical events, Oak Alley reception set for American Eagle maiden voyage
American Cruise Lines plans special musical performances, a reception at Oak Alley Plantation and gifts for passengers aboard American Eagle’s April 11 maiden voyage from New Orleans.

There will be a champagne reception, opportunities to meet company executives, performances by the vocalists The Victory Belles and the Tuneful Twosome, a shipboard photographer to capture maiden voyage activities, a private reception at Oak Alley with hors d’oeuvres and beverages, a piano concert at the historic J.N. Stonehouse in Vidalia and an engraved picture frame with the passenger's photo of choice.

American Eagle will carry 150 passengers in 84 spacious staterooms, 78 with private balconies. The newly built riverboat will offer modern amenities in a vessel styled after late 1800s riverboats.

The paddlewheeler will operate primarily on the Lower Mississippi River between New Orleans and Memphis.

American Eagle follows American Cruise Lines' Queen of the Mississippi, which debuted in 2012.
