Shipbuilding veteran Raimon Strunck has been named to the newly created role of chief technology officer at MV Werften. His responsibilities include project management, design, planning as well as procurement and logistics.

He is a member of the senior management and reports to CEO Peter Fetten.

Strunck said MV Werften has a 'remarkable' newbuilding program that now has to be successfully implemented, adding that he looks forward to helping the company achieve its goals, both in terms of the new construction projects and in effective organization of the company.

Two dozen years in shipbuilding

A qualified mechanical engineer, Strunck has 24 years of experience in shipbuilding. Most recently, he served as managing director for Neptun Shipyard in Rostock, where he oversaw the construction of 14 river cruise vessels, an LNG gas tanker and multiple floating engine room units for cruise vessels.

His experience includes three years at HDW in Kiel and 15 years at Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft. Previous positions were in project management, sales and planning, working for shipyards in Germany and abroad.

'We are delighted that Raimon Strunck has joined the MV Werften team. With his extensive experience in project managing new ship builds as well as his experience in business and personnel management, our shipyard group is gaining a skilled industry expert,' said Carsten J. Haake, managing director.
