200 calls expected at Guangzhou's Nansha cruise terminal in 2016
A phase two expansion project at Guangzhou's Nansha cruise terminal is scheduled to be completed in 2018, allowing the port to accommodate higher traffic volumes.

The Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Port Terminal is expecting around 200 calls this year bringing more than 250,000 passengers.

In first half 2016 the facility welcomed 102 ships and registered more than 160,000 cruise visitors.

Royal Caribbean International's Ovation of the Seas and Costa Cruises' Costa Fortuna will call at Guangzhou, a sprawling port city northwest of Hong Kong on the Pearl River, between October and November this year, as the China market continues to expand.

Nansha will be the homeport for Dream Cruises first newbuild, Genting Dream, starting in November.
