The double-wide AmaMagna will branch out to the lower Danube in 2020
AmaWaterways' 2020 preview brochure introduces new land extensions to Istanbul and Nice, additional wine cruises and itineraries including a new route for the double-wide AmaMagna one year after its introduction.

AmaMagna adds the lower Danube

On four select itineraries, AmaMagna will expand its routes to the lower Danube. The seven-night 'Gems of Southeast Europe' itinerary between Budapest, Hungary, and Giurgiu, Romania, sails through Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania with stops at sites such as the ethereal Belogradchik Rocks and the UNESCO World Heritage-designated Rock-Hewn Churches of Ivanovo.

AmaMagna will also sail the 14-night 'Grand Danube Cruise' between Vilshofen, Germany, and Giurgui, Romania, traveling to seven countries and offering scenic views through the Iron Gates between Serbia and Romania.

Measuring twice the width of a traditional European river vessel, AmaMagna provides larger suites (the majority 355 square feet or larger), four dining venues, an expansive Zen Wellness Studio and a Water Sports Platform with a Sundowner vessel for complimentary tours of the Danube.

New AmaDante routes

In 2020, AmaWaterways will also introduce two new itineraries on AmaDante. The seven-night 'Treasures of the Main & Rhine' sails from Nuremberg to Amsterdam, through storybook scenery and iconic landmarks as well as the locks of Main-Danube Canal. This trip can be packaged with a three-night, pre-cruise land program in Prague.

AmaDante's new 'Vineyards of the Rhine & Moselle,' from Amsterdam to Luxemburg, can be paired with two-night stay in Amsterdam before embarking on a seven-night cruise through the UNESCO-designated Rhine and vineyard-clad Moselle valleys. Other scenic stops include the charming villages of Rüdesheim, Cochem and Bernkastel before ending the cruise with an optional three-night extension in Paris.

More than 70 hosted wine-themed cruises will be offered in 2020, two on the new 'Treasures of the Main & Rhine' itinerary. On-board lectures and wine tastings are led by wine experts, and shore excursions provide curated epicurean experiences.

Istanbul and Nice land extensions

Travelers on 'Gems of Southeast Europe' and 'Grand Danube' itineraries will have the choice of a new three-night land extension in Istanbul as an alternative to a four-night land extension in Bucharest and Brasov. This highlights the most iconic spots and the history of the city and includes a tour of Topkapi Palace.

On the 'Colors of Provence and Spain' itinerary, a new three-night land extension in Nice will also be offered as an alternative to a three-night land extension in Barcelona. From Nice, travelers can explore the French Riviera, including Aix-en-Provence and Monte Carlo.

Early booking savings

Travelers who book now can save up to $1,000 per stateroom on select cruises, depending on duration, and up to $1,500 per stateroom on select European wine cruises. AmaWaterways veterans get additional savings.
