Jennifer Vandekreeke tries a Boomerang Burger on board Carnival Spirit in Sydney today
Carnival Cruise Line vp Australia, Jennifer Vandekreeke, invited Sydney media to come on board Carnival Spirit in Sydney today to sample the new bars and eateries that were installed during the resident ship’s $US44m dry-dock at the Sembcorp Marine Admiralty Yard in Singapore  in August.

Journalists were treated to a special performance of ‘80s Pop to the Max’ show by Playlist Productions and toured the rejuvenated Camp Ocean childrens’ club.

The Caribbean-inspired RedFrog Rum Bar, the Bluelguana cantina and tequila bar and the handcrafted cocktails at Alchemy Bar were also on show.

Everyone headed for lunch at the poolside Guy’s Burger Joint, created by American author, restaurateur and television personality, Guy Fieri.

Fieri has come up with a Boomerang Burger especially for Australians who like beetroot with their burgers and hand-cut fries (which Australians call chips).

‘Guy’s Burger Joint is a great American experience, but with the addition of the Boomerang Burger we’re making sure it also suits Aussie tastes,’ Vandekreeke said.

‘With all burgers included in the fare, we think Guy’s Burger Joint is going to be very popular and we’re expecting the Boomerang Burger to fly out the door.’
