Norwegian Bliss will sport a nearly 1,000-foot, electric-car racetrack
Some of China ship Norwegian Joy's most popular features, including a racetrack and an open-air laser tag course, will be aboard Norwegian Bliss, debuting in Alaska next summer, along with new elements like a Texas smokehouse.

Norwegian Bliss expands the electric-car racetrack to nearly 1,000 feet. The open-air laser tag course is themed as an abandoned space station, and will be open day and night.

When it comes to dining, modern décor and premium ingredients will meet Southern flavors at the new Texas smokehouse, Q, where Texas barbecue will be served nighly to live contemporary pop country music. The new à la carte specialty restaurant will feature brisket, ribs, chicken and sausages smoked over hickory, oak and pecan woods. Sides and starters include deviled eggs with natural air cured ham, pickled jalapeños, fresh cheddar and breadcrumb-crusted mac-n-cheese.

Norwegian Bliss also has Los Lobos, an outpost of the brand’s new Mexican restaurant that debuted in 2016 aboard Norwegian Dawn, following its drydock enhancement. Los Lobos offers an upscale, modern take on traditional favorites like fresh guacamole prepared tableside, al pastor tacos, enchiladas de mole and handcrafted margaritas featuring private-label Patron Barrel Select, Norwegian's own tequila blend.

With indoor and outdoor seating on Deck 8 aft, Los Lobos will be adjacent to Cagney’s Steakhouse. Between Los Lobos and Cagney’s, The A-List Bar, named for Norwegian Cruise Line president and ceo Andy Stuart, will serve handcrafted cocktails, wines and premium spirits.

Sweets and treats will be available day and night at Coco’s, a new à la carte dessert venue on Deck 6 in the heart of the ship, 678 Ocean Place, where liquid chocolate in an enclosed oversized chocolate fountain will adorn its entranceway. The chocolate-themed dessert restaurant will feature handmade pralines, truffles, crepes and other treats paired with fine coffees and teas.

In a nod to Norwegian Bliss's Seattle homeport, there will be a full-service Starbucks with coffees, teas and bites available à la carte.

In a new complimentary dining concept, The Local will offer pub fare in a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere 24 hours a day. Plus, the line's signature à la carte restaurants Le Bistro (French cuisine), La Cucina (Italian), Ocean Blue (seafood), Food Republic (global fusion cuisine), Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, The Bake Shop and Teppanyaki will be on board.

Other bars and lounges include District Brew House, serving 24 beers on tap and more than 50 bottled beers, along with bites from the adjacent Food Republic. At The Cellars, A Michael Mondavi Family Wine Bar, light bites will be available from La Cucina.

In homage to its two homeport cities Norwegian Bliss will have a beverage program featuring local craft cocktails developed by Seattle-based celebrity mixologist and chef Kathy Casey as well as Miami-based Gabe Orta, one of the master curator’s behind the city’s BarLab concepts.

Norwegian Bliss also offers an expansive sun deck featuring two spacious pools and six infinity hot tubs that scale the side of the ship. The Aqua Park includes two multi-story waterslides. The high-speed Ocean Loops free fall slide includes two exhilarating loops, one that extends out over the side of the ship, and a second, see-through loop that stretches down to the deck below. In the tandem Aqua Racer passengers can race side-by-side on inner tubes for more than 360 feet, with a translucent section that provides ocean views on the twist and turn to the finish line.

The ship will offer live entertainment and deck parties at Spice H2O. In a first for Norwegian, Bliss will have a smoking and non-smoking casinos.

Norwegian Bliss will also feature entertainment like the Tony-Award winner for best musical 'Jersey Boys' and two observation lounges, including the exclusive Horizon Lounge for Haven guests.

A wide variety of accommodations include suites in The Haven by Norwegian, studio staterooms for solo travelers with virtual ocean views and new connecting staterooms suited for large groups and families traveling together.

The features were announced by Andy Stuart Sunday at Virtuoso Travel Week at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, where media and travel partners previewed Norwegian Bliss through interactive 3D virtual reality experiences.

The 167,800gt ship is under construction at Meyer Werft for delivery in spring 2018. For its inaugural season, Norwegian Bliss will sail to Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, BC, round-trip Seattle, before repositioning to Miami to begin eastern Caribbean cruises in November to St. Thomas, Tortola and Nassau.
