Port of San Francisco officials greeted the maiden call of Norwegian Bliss on Oct. 3. Norwegian Cruise Line's newest ship docked at the James R. Herman Cruise Terminal at Pier 27.

The 168,028gt Bliss became the largest cruise ship to visit the City by the Bay.

Plaque presentations

Port maritime director Peter Dailey presented a plaque commemorating the occasion to Capt. Steffan Bengtsson. The Norwegian Bliss master also received a plaque from Cathryn Lucido, terminal manager, Metro Cruise Services.

Norwegian Bliss had just wrapped its inaugural Alaska season and was heading down the coast to the Port of Los Angeles to begin a month of Mexican Riviera cruises.
