Norwegian Escape's cabling solutions supplied by Nexans
French-based cabling solutions company Nexans has equipped Norwegian Escape with a full range of cables to power data flow transmissions and on-board entertainment systems.

Norwegian Cruise Lines' latest ship, currently en-route to a naming ceremony in Miami, houses 2,400 km of Nexans’ power, instrumentation and control cables,  supplied as part of a multi-year contract with shipbuilder Meyer Werft and based on a relationship that goes back 25 years, commented Stéphane Mortelette, shipbuilding manager at Nexans.

The cabling compnay's German subsidiary, based in Mönchengladbach, supplied low voltage power, instrumentation, control, and medium voltage power cables.

They are designed with halogen-free materials that are fire retardant and release low levels smoke in case of a fire.

Sved Smid, lead purchase manager for cables at Meyer Werft said, 'We are excited to have launched another ship with the help of Nexans. They understood what the project needed.'
