Highlights of Norwegian Cruise Line's 2016/17 deployment include the addition of San Juan, Puerto Rico, as a seasonal homeport for Norwegian Gem and new eight-day eastern Caribbean and six-day western Caribbean sailings from Miami on Norwegian Escape.

Plus, all passengers sailing a western Caribbean itinerary in 2016/17 will have the opportunity to visit Harvest Caye, Norwegian’s new island destination in Belize.

Seasonally, the line will continue to field three ships in Alaska, four in Europe and two in Bermuda, along with a variety of South America, Bahamas/Florida and repositioning cruises. Norwegian will also continue to offer its inter-island Hawaii cruises year-round on Pride of America from Honolulu and short Bahamas itineraries from Miami year-round on Norwegian Sky.

The new cruises are open for group bookings, and go on sale Dec. 16 to Latitudes Rewards passengers and President’s Club travel partners. Bookings to the general public open Dec. 18.

Norwegian will continue its tradition of sailing from both New York City and Boston to Bermuda between April and October 2016. From New York, Norwegian Breakaway will sail Sundays from April 24 through October 23, 2016. From Boston, Norwegian Dawn will depart Fridays from June to September and in October 2016.

Norwegian Escape will sail seven-day eastern Caribbean routes from Miami year-round to St. Thomas, Tortola and Nassau. Eight-day cruises on three dates add St. Maarten. Six-day western Caribbean cruises on three dates visit Roatán, Harvest Caye and Cozumel. The six- and eight-day itineraries can be combined.

Norwegian Getaway will sail from Miami every Saturday from April 24, 2016, to April 23, 2017. Ports include Roatán, Harvest Caye, Costa Maya and Cozumel.

Norwegian returns to homeport in San Juan in 2016 on Norwegian Gem. A seven-day Southern Caribbean itinerary will operate Oct. 23, Nov. 6 and 20, and Dec. 4, to Barbados, Martinique, St. Kitts, St. Maarten and St. Thomas. A variation of the seven-day southern Caribbean itinerary on Oct. 30, Nov. 13 and 20 has Grenada, St. Lucia, Dominica, Antigua and Tortola.

Norwegian Spirit will sail alternating seven-day western and eastern Caribbean routes from Port Canaveral, while Norwegian Jade will cruise weekly from Houston, November 2016 to mid-April  2017, and Norwegian Dawn will sail Sundays from New Orleans, late November 2016 to mid-April 2017. Norwegian Star's Sunday sailings from Tampa operate from late October 2016 to mid-April 2017.

Alaska will be covered by Norwegian Pearl and Norwegian Jewel from Seattle, and Norwegian Sun from Vancouver, BC, and Seward. Norwegian Jewel will sail Saturdays on Sawyer Glacier cruises, while Norwegian Pearl will depart Sundays on a cruise featuring Glacier Bay. Both itineraries include Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, BC. Each ship will operate one 10-day program.

Norwegian Sun's seven-day Glacier Bay cruises sail one way between Vancouver and Seward. Northbound from Vancouver, the ship cruises the Inside Passage, Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glacier and visits to Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau. On southbound Sawyer Glacier cruises from Seward, Norwegian sun visits the Inside Passage and Hubbard Glacier, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan.

The line's four-ship Europe deployment in summer 2016 sees Norwegian Epic cruising year-round from Barcelona to Naples, Civitavecchia (Rome), Livorno, Cannes and Palma de Majorca. Five 10-day sailings will visit the Canary Islands and Morocco.

Norwegian Star will return to the Baltic for nine-day cruises from Copenhagen featuring an overnight in St. Petersburg and scenice sailing through the Stockholm Archipelago following the ship’s afternoon departure from the Swedish capital. Other calls include Warnemünde, Tallinn and Helsinki.

A 14-day North Cape itinerary coincides with the summer solstice. It can be combined with a nine-day Baltic capitals itinerary.

Norwegian Star will also sail two seven-day Norwegian Fjords itineraries and a 14-day Norway, Iceland and Faroe Islands cruise, both from Copenhagen.

Norwegian Jade will return to Venice for alternating seven-day Greek Isles and Adriatic, Greece and Turkey itineraries from May to October 2016.

Norwegian Spirit’s 12-day 'Grand Mediterranean' cruises operate from Venice to Piraeus, Kusadasi, Istanbul, Mykonos, Naples, Civitavecchia, Livorno and Toulon. Additionally, the ship will sail a 12-day 'Grand Mediterranean' one-way itinerary from Barcelona to Venice on seven dates and a 14-day version from Barcelona to Venice on July 18, 2016.

Norwegian Gem will operate seven-day Bahamas/Florida cruises from New York in 2016 from April 30 to May 14 and from June 18 to Aug. 27. Port Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau are the destinations.

Norwegian Sky will continue three- and four-day jaunts to the Bahamas year-round from Miami departing Fridays and Mondays. Ports are Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay.

Norwegian Gem will again offer two summer Canada/New England six-day round-trips from New York City in 2016. The ship's main program, seven-day round-trips, operates from September to early October visiting Halifax, Saint John, Portland and Newport.

Norwegian Dawn will offer one-way seven-day cruises between Boston and Québec City in September 2016. The northbound itinerary has Portland, Halifax, Charlottetown, Gaspésie and Saguenay, while the southbound route begins with an overnight in Québec City, then visits Sydney, Halifax, Saint John and Bar Harbor, Maine. These sailings can be combined.

In Hawaii, Pride of America will continue to sail every Saturday from Honolulu through April 2018.

Norwegian Pearl will sail 11- and 10-day Panama Canal cruises from Miami beginning fall 2016. The 10-day option visits Aruba, Cartagena, Colón and Puerto Limón, while the 11-day alternative calls at Cartagena, Colón, Puerto Limón, Roatán, Harvest Caye and Costa Maya. An 11-day round-trip is available, too.

Norwegian Sun returns to South America, operating 14-day, open-jaw voyages between Buenos Aires and Valparaíso, highlighted by the Strait of Magellan, the Chilean Fjords, the Patgonic Channels and Canal Moraleda. Ten departures are available, to ports like Montevideo, Puerto Madryn, the Falkland Islands, Ushuaia, Punta Arenas, Puerto Chacabuco and Puerto Montt. Eastbound cruises sail the Beagle Channel and Cape Horn.

Norwegian returns to the Mexican Riviera with cruises from two  homeports. Norwegian Jewel will sail a seven-day itinerary from Los Angeles from October 2016 to late April 2017, with calls at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán and Cabo San Lucas. Norwegian Sun will operate three 11-day departures to Acapulco, Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, Puerto Vallarta (overnight), Mazatlán and Cabo San Lucas.
