With the Port of Mobile and the mouth of the Mississippi River closed due to Nate—expected to become a Category 2 hurricane by the time it makes landfall on the US Gulf Coast—Carnival Fantasy and Carnival Dream's schedules are impacted.

Carnival Fantasy is now going to turn around at the Alabama Cruise Terminal on Sunday instead of Saturday, while Carnival Dream's turnaround at the Port of New Orleans is delayed from Sunday to Monday.

Meanwhile, both ships are maintaining a safe distance from the storm, Carnival Cruise Line said.

Carnival Fantasy's next cruise from Mobile, Oct. 8, will be shortened from a five-day to a four-day sailing, calling at Progreso.

Carnival Dream's next cruise from New Orleans, Oct. 9, will be a six-day sailing to Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

New Orleans-based Carnival Triumph is currently on a four-day cruise after departing Thursday and, at this time, is scheduled to return on Monday as planned.
