Oceania Cruises raises the curtain on entertainment for new Sirena

Oceania Cruises is making a significant investment to upgrade entertainment offerings fleet-wide beginning with Sirena, the newest ship, launching this week. Each vessel will feature a full roster of new stage shows, to be implemented during upcoming drydocks.

Oceania is leveraging the entertainment team at sister brand Norwegian Cruise Line to help develop a range of musical, theatrical and comedic productions for all its ships by spring 2017.

Beginning with its April 27 maiden voyage, Sirena will feature four musical spectaculars presented by accomplished singers and dancers and accompanied by a five-piece show band.

The lineup includes 'Tuxedo,' a fresh take on the music of the Rat Pack, the Great American Songbook and the music of legends like Tony Bennett and Natalie Cole. The show uses a full nine-piece orchestra.

'Cabaret Cinema' offers memorable songs from the silver screen, including classic movie themes, pop hits and Academy Award showstoppers.

'Acoustic Sessions' offers an 'unplugged,' acoustic-style live-band in a 360-degree, arena-style setting. The show offers what Oceania said is the most recognizable pop music of the last four decades in an immersive experience.

'Get On the Floor and Dance,' meanwhile, is a tribute to the dance hits of artists like Gloria Estefan and Michael BubleĢ.

The new shows have been conceived and directed by showHive founder Emmett Murphy. Original musical arrangements by jazz composer and recording artist, Christian Tamburr. Choreography has been created by Broadway vetted Jessica Hartman and Jennifer Savelli. Costume design is by Mistinguett and scenic design by Tom Cluff. Lighting design by Garrett Caine.
