Insignia - the perfect match for New York, and New York the perfect match for Oceania Cruises, says Bob Binder
Oceania Cruises will offer an upscale alternative in New York City when Insignia sails more than 20 voyages to or from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal starting in 2017.

An array of round-trip and open-jaw voyages are planned to Canada/New England, Bermuda, Greenland and Iceland.

Oceania president and ceo Bob Binder called Insignia the perfect match for New York, and New York the perfect match for Oceania Cruises. He said the ship's acclaimed dining rivals the best restaurants ashore, and cited the 684-passenger Insignia's 'elegance, sophistication and luxurious Canyon Ranch SpaClub.'

The line's destination-focused cruises feature overnights at cities including New York, Charleston (South Carolina), Reykjavik (Iceland), St. George and Hamilton (Bermuda). The itineraries are curated to offer culinary, historical and cultural immersion.

Departures are Aug. 10, Aug. 31 and Sept. 10, and an 11-day version, 'Seaside Medley,' adds Hamilton, Bermuda, and sails Aug. 20.

'North Atlantic Seafarer, a 15-day voyage on July 26, sails from Reykjavik to New York with calls at Isafjordur, Iceland; Prince Christian Sound, Qaqortoq, Paamiut and Nuuk, Greenland; Sydney, Halifax and Boston.

Among the 2018 voyages, which open for booking on Nov. 16, is 'Caribbean Palette,' 14 days, from Miami to New York. The July cruise visits Santa Marta, Colombia; Oranjested, Aruba; Kralendijk, Bonaire: St. George’s, Grenada; Castries, St. Lucia; Roseau, Dominica; and St. George, Bermuda.

The 'Cottages, Coves & Coasts' itinerary will be reprised, with July, August and September departures, along with 'Seaside & Cityscapes,' in August.

In September and October 2018, varied 10-day Canada/New England cruises between New York and Montréal are planned, with destinations such as Sept-Isles, Québec; and Portland, Maine, sprinkled into the mix.
