Oriana to skip Key West on Miami delay following 'very minor' fire
P&O Cruises' Oriana was delayed in Miami due to a mandatory US Coast Guard inspection following what a company spokeswoman said was a 'minor, localized fire which was swiftly extinguished and at no time affected the safety of passengers or crew.'

The fire was in the engine room on departure from PortMiami Saturday. Oriana returned to returned to port.

There was no need to call passengers to muster, a P&O Cruises spokeswoman told Seatrade Insider.

Oriana's departure was delayed by the USCG inspection and the ship was due to leave Miami at 8 a.m. local time Sunday but will have to skip Key West. Oriana will sail directly to New Orleans, where arrival is scheduled for 9 on Tuesday morning, the spokeswoman said.
