Paul Gauguin has new 2016 S. Pacific, Aegean, Caribbean routes

Paul Gauguin has new 2016 S. Pacific, Aegean, Caribbean routes
Paul Gauguin Cruises' 2016 is laced with a new seven-night 'Tahiti, the Society Islands & Tuamotus' itinerary and an 11-night 'Society Islands & Tuamotus' voyage on Paul Gauguin, and new seven-night round-trips from Athens, Greece, and Philipsburg, St. Maarten, on Tere Moana.

The line is offering 50% off standard cruise fares on all 2016 voyages of both ships, plus included airfare from Los Angeles on The Gauguin itineraries.

The new seven-night 'Tahiti, the Society Islands & Tuamotus' voyage adds the Tuamotus archipelago to the line’s most popular Polynesian itinerary. Sailing round-trip Papeete, Tahiti, The Gauguin visits Huahine, Taha’a (Motu Mahana), Bora Bora and Moorea in the Society Islands and Fakarava and Rangiroa in the Tuamotus. The Feb. 6 cruise is priced starting at $5,345 per person, including air from Los Angeles.

The Gauguin's new 11-night 'Society Islands & Tuamotus' sailing features a second full day on the line’s private island, Motu Mahana. There are overnights in Papeete, Bora Bora and Moorea, in addition to calls at Huahine, Rangiroa and Fakarava. The Dec. 3 voyage starts at $5,845 per person, including air from Los Angeles.

The Gauguin will also continue to operate its most sought-after itineraries in 2016: the seven-night 'Tahiti & the Society Islands,' the 10-night 'Society Islands & Tuamotus,' the 11-night 'Cook Islands & Society Islands' and the 14-night 'Marquesas, Tuamotus & Society Islands.' All include access to Paul Gauguin Cruises’ two exclusive retreats—Motu Mahana and a private beach in Bora Bora. At Motu Mahana, cruisers get a day of watersports, Polynesian activities, a sumptuous barbecue and cocktails from full-service and floating bars. In Bora Bora, they can relax on a white-sand beach with refreshments, volleyball and snorkeling.

The Moana will again operate in southern Europe during spring, summer and fall, and cruise the Caribbean and Latin America during the fall and winter. Two 14-night trans-Atlantic crossings are available between St. Maarten and Lisbon, departing March 26 and Nov. 12, with cruise fares starting at $2,145 per person.

New in Europe for 2016 is a seven-night round-trip Athens (Piraeus) voyage that visits Santorini, Rhodes, Symi, Patmos and Mykonos in Greece, along with Kusadasi in Turkey. The June 4 cruise is priced from $4,295.

The Moana’s seven-night Barcelona to Lisbon cruise includes new ports: Valencia, Cartagena and Málaga, Spain. The ship also visits Cádiz, Spain; Gibraltar, UK; and Portimão, Portugal. The Nov. 5 sailing starts at $4,295.

A new highlight on the seven-night Rome (Civitavecchia) to Barcelona cruise is a call at Livorno for excursions to Florence, Italy. The Aug. 27 voyage also visits Monte Carlo, Monaco, and Nice, Cannes, Cassis and Sète, France. Fares begin at $4,095.

Other Moana cruises sail between Piraeus and Istanbul to ports in Greece and Turkey; between Civitavecchia and Venice with calls in Italy, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia; and round-trip Civitavecchia to destinations along the Italian Riviera and at Corsica's Porto-Vecchio. Seven-night cruises between Civitavecchia and Nice, and between Nice and Barcelona are available, too.

In the Caribbean, The Moana introduces a seven-night 'Yachtsman’s Paradise' voyage round-trip Philipsburg, St. Maarten. The itinerary features overnights in each port: Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, Anguilla and St. Barts. The March 19 cruise is priced from $3,245 while the Nov. 26 sailing starts at $2,945.

In Latin America, The Moana features an eight-night Colón, Panama, to St. Maarten voyage calling at Cartagena, Aruba and Les Saintes, while a 14-night St. Maarten to Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica, includes a Panama Canal evening transit. The Moana’s seven-night round-trip Puerto Caldera voyages visit small island and nature destinations in Panama and Costa Rica.
