Paul Gauguin sailed for Taha’a (Motu Mahana) and was due to arrive Wednesday morning for a stay until 5 p.m. Then it will sail for Moorea, calling there Thursday and Friday, before departing for Papeete, Tahiti, on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. arrival and overnight, as scheduled. The cruise ends Aug. 20.
Two days at Bora Bora—Friday and Saturday—had been scheduled in the 10-night 'Society Islands and Tuamotus' itinerary. During the Paul Gauguin's stayover, services operated normally, including dining, activities and entertainment.
The ship ran tender service to and from Vaitape as well as to the line’s private beach in Bora Bora. Paul Gauguin Cruises also arranged shore excursions in Bora Bora and provided each passenger a complimentary excursion.
The company said it will offer a compensation plan for the disrupted itinerary.
