Penzance joins Destination Southwest

Penzance joins Destination Southwest
Penzance in Cornwall is the latest port to join Destination Southwest.

The anchorage port has unlimited restrictions of vessel calls and once ashore passengers have easy access to St Michael’s Mount ten minutes away, a must for every visitor to the far West of England. During its long history, the Mount has been a church, priory, fortress and private home to the St Aubyn family since 1659. Different parts of the castle vary in date from the twelfth to the nineteenth centuries.

The Minack Theatre is carved into the cliff edge of Porthcurno, in the style of a Roman amphitheatre, with surrounding views of the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop. The theatre runs plays, musicals and opera from May to September.

20 minutes from the port is the most westerly point in mainland Britain, Land's End which was known as Pen Von Las to the ancient Cornish meaning 'End of the Earth'.
