All four ocean-going ships of Phoenix Reisen converged at Columbus Cruise Center in Bremerhaven July 31.

Flagship Amadea led the fleet, arriving at 6:30 a.m., followed by Albatros and Artania, with Deutschland completing the picture.

In the terminal passengers were welcomed by performers on stilts and offered fish snacks and smoothies. For the ships' evening departure a marching band played on the quayside and each vessel got three gun salutes.

In one day 6,400 passengers used the Bremerhaven terminal for arrival or departure. About 450 tons of provisions were loaded and about 10,000 suitcases handled.

Bremerhaven was capable of docking all four ships at one quay and processing all passengers at a single terminal.

Thanks to improvements implemented over the winter, the distance needed for luggage handling was shortened, and services for crew and passengers were enhanced.

For 2016, Columbus Cruise Center Bremerhaven has already recorded at least a 35% increase in passenger numbers. This figure is expected to grow considerably in 2017 und 2018.
