P&O Australia reveals wow factor of Pacific Explorer

The 77,000gt Dawn Princess arrived in Sydney on October 26, 2008, to become Princess Cruises’ second resident ship, following her sister ship Sun Princess which arrived 12 months earlier.

 

She will be in drydock from May 12 until June 9, 2017, and will then reposition back to Australia for her first South Pacific cruise in the P&O fleet as Pacific Explorer on June 22.

 

‘We’ve taken the winning features of our existing ships, then added a whole new layer of excitement with some big wow moments,’ Myrmell said.

 

These include two spectacular waterslides in a mega-waterpark and a lawn bowls green, as well as the P&O Edge Adventure Park’s flying fox.

 

The Black Circus, a supper club with cabaret-style entertainment, will be new and The Pantry, the company’s international food market place, will be extended to include a ninth outlet—Nic and Toni’s for Mediterranean specials. There will also be a poolside Lobster and Burger Bar.

 

Myrmell said the company’s signature Salt grill by Luke Mangan will have ‘a sparkling location’ overlooking the main pool area.
