Canaveral Port Authority Commissioners present a $25,000 contribution to the Brevard Veterans Council
The Canaveral Port Authority board approved waiving cruise parking fees for vehicles displaying a disabled veteran license plate issued under Florida statutes, effective immediately.

The board also approved designs for a Port Canaveral display at the new Brevard Veterans Memorial Center on Merritt Island and contributed $25,000 to the expansion project.

'We honor our veterans for their service and appreciate sacrifices they have made on behalf of our country,' commission chairman Jerry Allender said. 'We are happy to tangibly show our gratitude for their contributions to our freedom.'

The display at the Veteran’s Center will focus on the history of the US Air Force, Army, Navy and Coast Guard at Port Canaveral.
