Ted Fick - returning to the private sector
Ted Fick resigned as ceo of the Port of Seattle, and chief operating officer Dave Soike was appointed as interim ceo.

'We accept the resignation of Ted Fick, and acknowledge his desire to return to the private sector,' said Port of Seattle Commission president Tom Albro after a special commission meeting Thursday. 'We are currently working through the details of his departure and will defer further comment until those details are resolved.'

Fick joined the port in September 2014. In his resignation letter, he outlined a number of achievements, including record passenger, cruise ship and air cargo traffic.

Soike has more than 35 years of experience at many levels and lines of business at the port.

A public process for a chief executive replacement will begin later this year.
